A.4.2. Use a system-wide configuration file

A system-wide configuration file is a computer-SPM set related configuration file at a location outside the Camera installation folder.

The following sections describes how you can manually create and use such a system-wide configuration file.

To enable using a system-wide configuration file on a computer, perform the following one-time preparation:

  1. Assuming Camera with a project open that has the configuration you want to reuse,
  2. Select menu item Settings+Calibration & UnitsSave... and
  3. Select path/to/my/config/folder, e.g. D:\Measurements\CameraConfig
  4. Specify filename my.config, e.g. SetupName.config
  5. Press Save

Remember to update this file if you want it to reflect configuration changes you made while using Camera.

To use a system-wide configuration file on a computer, perform the following steps for each new installation of Camera (see screen shots below):

  1. In the Camera Configuration Dialog that opens at first start of a freshly installed version of Camera:
  2. Press Software Settings...
  3. Select path/to/my.config for Configuration file with default program settings
  4. Press Ok
  5. Press Done.

To configure the system-wide configuration file at a later stage, you can open the Camera Software Settings dialog via menu item SettingsSoftware....
